FAQ'S

Can we meet you prior to making a booking?

Absolutely! It is a great chance to get to know each other and make sure you feel comfortable with me for your big day. If it is not possible because of distance Skype is a great option.

Where are you based?

I am based in Melbourne but I am constantly traveling for work, so if your wedding is outside of Melbourne I would love to hear about it. I also spend a lot of time on the Sunshine Coast, this is where I grew up and my family is still there.

How do we book you?

Easy! Send me an enquiry and I’ll see if your wedding date is available. If you are happy with my packages and would like to go ahead I require a 30% deposit to lock in the date. The rest is due one week before the wedding. There is also a small contract for you to sign.

Do you prefer flash or natural light?

I love natural light and will always choose natural light over flash. I do have a flash that only comes out if I need it.

We don’t like posed wedding photos, will you make us pose?

I shoot most of the day in a documentary style. I will not put you in any awkward poses and I am all about capturing real moments as they unfold on your wedding day. A lot of the time you will not notice I am there. During the bridal party and couple portraits I will position you in the best light and give you enough direction so you don’t feel lost but my main aim is that you feel natural and comfortable.

When is the best time for portraits / what if it rains?

Late afternoon is the best time for portraits particularly an hour before sunset also known as golden hour. This is when the light is most soft and flattering. In reality this does not work for all weddings, especially in day light savings. I will always choose the best light and shade for your photos at the allocated time. If your up for it, I can steal you away for 10mins at sunset to get some beautiful golden hour shots as well.  I always have a few cute clear umbrellas in my car just in case it rains and grey sky creates beautiful moody images.

How and when do we receive our photos?

Within 4 weeks of your wedding I will post you a USB with all your edited images in both high resolution for printing and low resolution for web. Albums take 4 – 6 weeks after you have chosen your photos.

How many photos will we receive?

I don’t put a limit on the amount of photos you receive and it varies depending on your package. As a guide if you book the full day package you should expect approximately 600 – 800.

Do you supply RAW files?

No I don’t. The editing process is just as important as the shooting process and the two combined is how I achieve my style. If I was to hand over the RAW files I would be giving you an unfinished product. I take my time working on each individual image. You will receive both high res JPEG files for printing and low res JPEG files for web.

Is it just you taking our photographs on the day?

Yes, just me. I work with two cameras and a range of different lenses. You do have the option of adding a second photographer to your package.

What are your thoughts on a big group photo after the ceremony?

This is only something I do if requested and I don't recommend it. It can sometimes be difficult to round up all the guests, takes a long time and disrupts the flow of the day. I like to capture candid moments of people congratulating you after the ceremony rather then trying to round people up for a group photo. You can never see everyone in the the photo and the faces are very small. I much prefer to get some smaller family photos then a big group shot.

Do we have to feed you?

Yes please!
